Prague ~ a very beautiful city...

ok this is going to be a even-lesser-words-&-more-photo blog cos realli no time manz.. got project deadlines to rush...

(to cw n rl >>> spoiler warning! proceed at ur own risk!<<<)

Prague is in the Czech Republic. West of Germany.

If go Europe got time.. must go.. my initial impression of the place was.. eastern europe. cheap. not as developed as the other (western) european cities like Paris, Berlin & London. i.e. a bit backward so to say.. but i was wrong... its a very modern place! like any other big european city we've been to.. and nicer den most... we reached there last thursday night...

Our first dinner in Prague!
a meal costs around S$12 per person (w/ beer)..
not bad huh?

next morning... walking along the Vltava River..

view of the castle across the river
(note: the tallest building is NOT the castle)

reminded us of the Scott Monument in Edinburgh

Charles Bridge

crossing the bridge, u see statues on both sides
and realise no two are the same..

views from the bridge

St. Nicolaus Church

View of the Lesser Quarter from the castle

Castle guard

St. Vitus's Cathedral
(this is the building tt stands out from across the river..
its inside the castle)

ppl queueing up to go inside! *faintz*
minling say inside v nice..
too bad i din go in cos no time to spare

front view of St. Vitus

Hradcany square (castle entrance)
(we kinda entered from the back door)

the 2 Titans ( i think tts wat they call it)

statue like thingys along the street

Inside St. Nicolaus Church

too bad nv get to see inside the St. Vitus
(i would expect there to be nicer)
but this is a very VERY good consolation la.. haha

once again u get to see the level of intricacy
& effort they put in to build this place

According to the brochure, it is usually defined as being
the most beautiful building of Czech baroque.
(for those as stupid as me.. baroque is a type/form of art..
see wiki for more!)

Going up Petrin Hill

A video of Zer blowing away at dandelions...

(got another better one in Yip's camera..
will take from him when they get back!)

long climb up to Petrin Tower
(also known as the Mini Eiffel)

looks like it right?
after all, it was built according to the real thing..
albeit a smaller size..

at the top of the tower!
can u see the human traffic congestion along Charles Bridge?

great view of the castle from here!

and most of the Old Town

top right : The hunger wall

(another) sundial

another (garden)

The National Theatre

The National Museum

Try to spot the Astronomical Clock!

Dinner at a Chinese Restaurant
nice food.. but a bit too small serving..

Back at the St. Wenceslas Statue
in front of the National Museum

DAY 2

Back at the Old Town Square...
(needed to kill sometime b4 the train trip to Kutna Hora..)

Tada! The Astronomical Clock!
A major tourist magnet!

Rudolfinum
(i only know the name... cos its on the map.. haha)

spending more time at the riverside

KUTNA HORA

recommended by sis to visit the Bone Church.. so here we are..
this place is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site..
(but like quite ulu)

aaah... THE BEST MEAL at Prague!
makes the entire trip worth it!

(and of cos for yip.. drinking ice-cold Budweiser
while soaking in the Czech sunshine)

The Ossuary ~ Church of All Saints

Inside... everything is made of human bones!

Human bone chandelier

Human bone decorations

the famous coat-of-arms!

the 3 of them.. erm.. having fun..
i think zer quite excited cos' she got to cross a railway track...
and its no ordinary railway track ok...
this one got REAL trains go pass one hor.. dun play play..

Back to Prague Old town...

The Dancing House...

Sunset along the river.. I love sunsets..

Klaus Synagogue (In the Jewish Quarter)

Dinner! The middle pic is goulash with kneadlings!
A traditional Czech Dish.
I had plain carbonara.. but it was superb!
